Royal Safari Garden Resort for Your Next Weekend Getaway

Being a big city dweller means weekend getaway is a must for me.  This time we picked the Royal Safari Garden Resort & Convention. We decided to brace the mad traffic to go to Bogor and it was totally worth it!

Royal Safari Garden Resort for Your Next Weekend Getaway

Royal Safari Garden Resort Review

Situated in Puncak, Bogor, it will take you roughly 2 hours drive from Jakarta. It’s 67.2km (almost 42 miles) from the city. My suggestion, leave a bit early to avoid the congested traffic of people leaving town.

Check-in Process:

Royal Safari Garden Resort Lobby

We got there a bit early. There were some renovations going on outside the resort’s entrance so you need to pay close attention or you will miss the turn. The lobby is quite big with a gift shop loaded with souvenirs that drew my son also niece and nephew’s attention rather quickly.

Check-in process was quick and seamless. We were offered a ride on their buggy cart. We were then dropped nearby the Bird Sanctuary to catch some birds show with the kids. From there we decided to explore Royal Safari Garden Resort by foot. There’s definitely plenty of things to see in their 140.000 sqm place. That’s a huge place!

Our Room

We stayed at their Girrafe Suite, a rather newish addition to their property. We got a connecting room that was like a dream come true for the kids as it gives them plenty of room to roam around. The bed was comfy, the decorations in alignment with Giraffe theme and made for a conversational piece with my niece who loves animals. Room size wisely is pretty big with a balcony facing a small lawn and plenty of pine trees to give you fresh airs.

There’s a mini kitchen in our rooms, equipped with medium size fridge, a sink, complete utensils to eat in the room, plus a dining table.

The bathroom has a rain shower strong enough to wash away the stiffness from being in the car for nearly 2 hours and they provide complete amenities.

We love their welcome snacks tray!

For our first meals there, we picked to dine at Sky Garden Resto & Lounge. Located on the rooftop of their Leopard room. Oh, the VIEW! Seriously, it was the view that got me sold. You could see the mountains, pine trees…inhale the fresh mountain air. Food wisely, they served us delicious meals and their options are great to cater for the whole family. After we enjoyed our meals, we just hang out there and try not to fall asleep from the soothing wind and view.

Breakfast took place at their huge Arumba Resto. There were so many breakfast options to choose from. Fancy some local delicacies? They got them! What I love the most is how they also display and sell their own hydroponic harvested vegetables. Really a great idea since they already have the land and to become self-sustainable? Bravo! Don’t forget to grab some fresh veggies before you go back home.

Activities for the whole Family

At Royal Safari Garden Resort you have so many activities to choose from such as:

  • Animals Education. Here you could let the kids pet and feed cute fluffy bunnies, ponies, and birds. They could also ride horses, get up close and personal with their gentle elephants, ride a camel or a visit to the Reptile Island. All great activities to introduce and educate children about different animals.
  • Joy Rides! From the kiddies train that circled a mini golf venue to the classic bumper car ride or the fun paddle boats across their lake and sees their huge koi fishes. Want to seek some adrenaline rush? Then feel free to try their flying fox. We love the Segway! It was so much fun.  You could even rent a bicycle to explore the resort.
  • Water Park. This we missed because of the rain and truly, one day there isn’t enough to explore everything but hey, the more reasons for us to return soon!

There are plenty of activities to choose from for you and your family at the Royal Safari Resort if you need help just ask the front office and they’ll be happy to assist you.

Overal, we were happy to spend a weekend there albeit the rain. Would I recommend the place? For sure!

Thank you, Royal Safari Garden! We’ll be back.

Wow, the Royal Safari Garden Resort & Convention looks like such a fun place to stay! I’m a huge animal lover so I’d LOVE to visit/stay here someday. It sort of reminds me of the Animal Kingdom Lodge hotel at Disney World.

The mountains and trees make a beautiful backdrop for a resort. The room theme looks fun, and I love to have a mini kitchen in the room when I travel because they are so convenient.
