I Mustache You Some Questions

Saw this fun bloggy prompt from Alison’s Writing Wishing blog and then saw it on Christine’s Love Life Surf. Looks like fun so here we go:

I mustache you some questions, my edition:

I Mustache You A Question

Four names that people call me, other than my real name:

  1. Mommy – or lately when he is in front of other people: Mom. Sigh! He is growing up too fast.
  2. Moyen – This is how my parents calls me sometimes because they said when I was little I couldn’t pronounce Maureen.
  3. Oyen – This is a short from Moyen and lots of my closest families and friends calls me this.
  4. Morin – I am used to this because people would mispronounce my name all the time and call me this. Also mostly seen on Starbucks cups like this one

It's Maureen not Morin

Four jobs I have had (not counting any current jobs):

  1. Part time radio DJ – this was so much fun!
  2. Sales Promotion Girl
  3. Reservation officer in a hotel
  4. Working retail at Crossgate Mall, Albany, NY as my first ever US job. It was memorable.

Four movies I’ve watched more than once

  1. My Best Friend’s Wedding
  2. Crash
  3. Gone With The Wind
  4. Rent

Four books I’d recommend

  1. I Am Malala – Malala Yousafzah
  2. Black and White | The Way I See It – Richard Williams
  3. The Top Five Regrets of the Dying – Bronnie Ware
  4. Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom – Christiane Northrup, M.D.

Four places I have lived

  1. Sangatta, East Borneo, Indonesia, where we used to see wild orangutans playing in the nearby forest clearly visible from our front porch. Sangatta
  2. Latham, New York, where I realized the snow is so much more prettier when you look at it from inside a warm room while drinking hot chocolate. Snow in Latham, NY
  3. Dothan, Alabama, a little town in the middle of nowhere, a place where I became a mom nearly 8 years ago.
  4. Guangzhou, China, where I learned more about culture shock.

Four places I have been

  1. Los Angeles
  2. Atlanta, Georgia
  3. Fort Pierce, Florida
  4. Bangkok, Thailand

Four places I’d rather be right now

  1. Melbourne.
  2. Back in Tanjung Bira this time to stay longer.
  3. Somewhere cooler…we are officially in rainy season here in Indonesia but with 100% humidity level, not fun.
  4. Ora Beach, Ambon – I am half Ambonese but I haven’t been there so it’s such a great longing to visit and explore Ambon.

Four things I don’t eat

  1. Dog meat
  2. Any soy products – thank you uterine fibroids!
  3. Beef
  4. Fruits – I am limiting my fruit intake to completely nothing lately, again…uterine fibroids feeds off of sugar. Royally sucks because I love fruits and mango season is in full swing.

Four of my favorite foods

  1. Salmon
  2. Nuts (almonds, cashews, etc)
  3. Makassar style noodles – so good so bad for you!
  4. Durian! Yes, the stinky fruit.

Four TV shows that I watch

  1. Orange is The New Black
  2. Ellen Show
  3. Fashion Bloggers
  4. Nothing else really, I barely watch TV

Four things I am looking forward to this year

  1. My boy turning 8 next month. He will be with his Dad on his birthday but I’m really looking forward to celebrate his birthday in school with his classmates.
  2. Every times spent with my fiancé.
  3. Christmas with my family.
  4. Getting back to eating healthy and working out.

Four things I’m always saying

  1. “Eat with your fork/spoon!”
  2. “Don’t forget to borrow library books.”
  3. “Onward and forward…”
  4. “Have fun in school!”

What’s your answers to these?

      Thank you Tamara!
How’s your sister now? Did she had surgery to remove the fibroids?
      I wish her well.

Firstly, I just loved the title of this article so I jumped right in! It might have been the few champers I had had for Christmas…but hey it really amused me. And so did the answer to what you don’t eat – dog meat. Looking forward to discovering you more and thanks for the comment and follow!

I tried them before the dog meat – yes guilty – but at the time I thought it was normal until I realized where the meat was from. My grandpa didn’t tell me it was dog meat until way later and I felt sick to my stomach. The practice is still going strong in my mother’s hometown. Appreciate your comments 🙂
