7 Things I Learned From Sex and The City

Been a fan of Sex and The City for years now, had watched the show religiously even had my full seasons collection. Yes, the clothes, shoes and purses are to die for but for me they have more meaning (and I’m not that fashionista myself!) and here’s what I learned from that 4 fabulous ladies:

●   Boyfriends – or in Samantha’s case boy toys – will come and goes but real friendships will stay for a lifetime!

●   True friends may not approve your choices in life – but they will support you none the less!

●   If they don’t agree to your choices they’ll tell it like it is, in your face – not behind your back!

●   True friends will not ditch one another because of men – they may not agree to your taste but friendships prevail!

●   You can confide with one another freely – jokes maybe thrown at you but in good spirit.

●   True friends will back you up – they’re not afraid to step up for you!

●   True friends don’t care what kind of designer bag you are totting around and still love you unconditionally!

There you go! Feel free to love or hate the movie – for me, I just love seeing them back together even for 2.5 hours and I left the theater wishing I have 3 best friends like them. Well, maybe not exactly like them but you know what I mean, right?

This cool and so right about what SATC is really about, true female friendships. For a laugh did you ever work out what your SATC alter-ego is? Ask your friends. Mine identified me as a Samantha-Carrie combo…lol, although I wouldn’t call myself a man-eater, I guess I just had an ‘upbeat’ attitude to the opposite sex. Nowadays I’m probably more of a Charlotte…very weird. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Oh boy, I just found out my alter-ego, 2 different quizzes with 2 same results that I’m a Charlotte hahaha. Hope you are having a great week yourself 😀

I LOVE SATC! I think it’s because I also learned these lessons by watching it. Lately I have tried very hard to only keep the women close to me who fit these categories and let the rest be what they are: nice acquaintances. Just “followed” your blog, by the way. Love it! Plus I think you are pretty great too! Thanks for twittering with me. Praying for you!

Me too Katie – surrounding myself with ones that have those qualities. I agree with you about acquaintances! Thanks for following my blog, Katie. I adore your blog too and will come back to read more. I had a great time twittering with you and you are in my prayers. 🙂

Great cliff notes. I haven’t seen it yet. Waiting for a girlfriend to go with me. My husband wants nothing to do with it. Haha.

Thanks Lish! Hahahaha mine would rather watch our little monkey than going to watch it with me. He did watched the first movie on DVD with me tho but it’s less than a torture being in your own home.

I think I’ll wait for the dvd for SATC2. I really agree with you, yen. Their outfits, purses, and shoes always make me drooling, even design of their apartments make me jealous..hehe. But what I envy most is their true friendship.

I always watch the old episodes of SATC everyday, and even now I still can relate with the feelings of those 4 girls. I like the series much better than the movie, it’s much deeper and contextual. The movies, well, they’re more like a parade of over the top outfits. And I agree with you, it’s the friendship that counts. No matter how messed-up you are, your friends are always stand by your side. Over the years I’ve learned that good friends are difficult to find, so I treasure my friendship with my best friends a lot and (hopefully) never take it for granted.

And of course with you, we start developing a new, hopefully long-lasting, friendship!

Me too – I can totally relate to their episodes from the dating disasters etc. I think it’s more complex to turn what used to be a long running and well loved series into a 2.5 hours movie so I think that’s where the director failed or the script writer? I’m not sure hahaha but I just love watching them again.

I sure hope that our friendship will last for a long long time too, Anita! You’re one of those girl that I truly proud to call as a friend 😀

I loved the show, the first movie and I loved the second movie; I know it got panned, but it’s Sex and the City! How can you NOT love it?!

Thanks for visiting our blog. Glad to have found yours! I absolutely love the Sex in the City Series. I had watched it years ago in a type of piece meal version that had no real order. Recently a friend loaned me the entire series, which I use as a treadmill motivator. I only watch the episodes while using the treadmill…..it is making me want to walk much more:) It is also very interesting to watch the episodes in order as you gain more perspective on the series as a whole. Looking forward to more of your posts!! Oh by the way…my friends and I took a limo and went out for dinner and martini’s prior to the last SITC movie that came out…had a blast….even though movie 2 was not as good as movie 1 (in our opinion).
