When It Rains…

Jakarta (and most part of Indonesia really) has been having so much rain. It is predicted that these rain will last until February. That means the traffic will be like this most of the times

Without rain (and flooded streets) traffic in Jakarta is a nightmare already. I just spent about 2.5 hours in traffic and that was ‘pretty fast’ because we took a detour using what Indonesians calls as “Jalan Tikus” (loosely translated means mouse street) that means going through small small street cutting corners.

So what a girl gotta do when she’s bored out of her mind, her butt hurts and knowing she forgot to go to the toilet before leaving? Reached inside her purse, grab a pocket camera and starts taking pictures of course!

Those are really good pics! And the first pic reminds me of traffic in Bangkok – gotta love (or hate) the motor bikes.

ugh…rain until February? I couldn’t take that. Why is traffic so bad all the time there? Is it over populated? I don’t know how you can do it, girl! I’m back in your GFC…that’s crazy that you lost everyone!

We’ve got a rainy day here, but I haven’t taken any pictures of the rain as nice as you have.

I hate rain. A lot of people find it calming but I think it’s annoying and depressing. Living in New York for most of my life, it definitely annoyed me when I had to go anywhere, too. I can relate. Awesome photos, though! Way to make a positive out of a crappy situation!

I love the clarity of those raindrops 🙂

I should remember to keep my camera in my bag at all times, not just the times I think I am gonig to need it.

So I’ve heard. People have been moaning and complaining about the weather in Jakarta. I don’t understand either. Isn’t it supposed to be dry season, and wet season only starts in December?

Sometimes rain is lovely. Unless it doesn’t end. But you captured it so beautifully. Happy belated WW! I’m running one day behind. Hope you are having a lovely week.

2,5 hours reminds how in Cairo it took 15-20 mins to drive to the center of the city Sat/Sun morning but during the week in the evening it took 2,5 hours! No rain though! 🙂
It’s good to have a camera with you – you never know what will surprise you… 🙂
